“Humanistic Medicine” Kitakyushu Exhibition

Japanese medicine and medical care are said to be cutting-edge, and its beginnings can be traced back to the Edo period (1603-1867). At this exhibition, historical records such as rare anatomical drawings and medical tools used back in the Edo period will be displayed, delving into how Japan, a country where “humanistic medicine” has been in practice - saving many lives with its unique development from oriental herbal medicine originating from China, and “ranpou”, or Western medicine originally introduced by the Dutch.

Furthermore, advanced medical technology Japan boasts to the world will be introduced, with the running theme of visualization of iPS cells as well as the human body using the 3D printer.

Please come by, to witness the history of Japanese medicine.
