Temporary Welfare Benefits for the Elderly

1 What is Temporary Welfare Benefits for the Elderly:
Temporary Welfare Benefits for the Elderly are provided to support elderly people with low income who receive limited benefits from wage increases. The goal of this initiative is to help bolster consumer spending in the first half of 2016 with the target of achieving “a society in which all one-hundred million-plus citizens are able to become dynamically engaged”.

2 Eligibility:
Those who apply for simple payment measures (temporary welfare benefits) and who turn 65 or over in 2016 Japanese Fiscal Year (who were born before April 1st 1952).
However, if any of the below applies, the person will not be eligible for the benefits:
・If the person supporting you is taxed;
・If you receive benefits under the public assistance system;
・If you are a short-term resident of foreign national, or an undocumented foreign national.

3 Payment Amount:
30,000 yen per eligible person.

4 Application Period:
From April 19th (Tues.) 2016 until August 19th (Fri.) 2016
