Codes of Practice on Prohibited Activities in Major Nuisance Activities Prevention Districts

In accordance with the Kitakyushu municipal legislation on Major Nuisance Activities Prevention Districts, behaviors such as smoking outside of designated areas, littering, not cleaning up after your dog and graffiti are strictly prohibited. In the event that an individual is found committing any of these four offenses by a city inspector, they will be fined 1,000 yen.

The Major Nuisance Activities Prevention Districts include Kokura city center (around the South Exit of JR Kokura Station, the shopping districts and Katsuyama Park); and the Kurosaki urban center (including in front of the JR Kurosaki Station and the shopping districts).

In regards to three of the abovementioned nuisance activities (littering, not cleaning up after your dog and graffiti), you may be fined 1,000 yen outside the Major Nuisance Activities Prevention Districts if you do not obey orders to stop or to clean up. Also, there is the need to bring smoking on the streets to an end throughout the municipal area.
